Climate Action Center

A bilingual climate platform with a live air-quality signal.

Climate Action Center Karachi runs research, advocacy, cultural programmes and community action across a dozen initiatives. It needed one public home that made all of that work legible—and gave visitors a reason to come back.

01 / Challenge

What stood in the way

Six programme areas, a growing media library in two languages, and a partner network all competed for the same front page. The organization also wanted to show the city’s air in real time, without implying an official regulatory reading.

02 / Approach

How we moved forward

We built a Next.js platform with a bold editorial system, a programme carousel, and auto-updating feeds for the latest event, video and podcast. A live AQI module converts station PM2.5 readings into an indicative U.S. AQI with clear health guidance and source attribution, and Urdu content is typeset right-to-left alongside English.

Delivered features

  • Indicative AQI from public PM2.5 sensor data
  • Auto-updating video and podcast feeds
  • Programme carousel with initiative deep-links
  • Bilingual, right-to-left aware typography
